Linen Christening Romper with St. Brigid's Cross
This 100% pure linen romper is beautifully made with quality detailing such as the linen-covered buttons and embroidered St. Brigid's crosses on the collar. Button openings at the back and bottom. Comes gift boxed with the story of St. Brigid's Cross that reads: "Born in Co Louth, Ireland in the year 453 AD and the daughter of an Irish Chieftan, St. Brigit is the Celtic saint of well-being. St. Brigid became a nun and her desire was to relieve the misery and hardship of the poor. The popular tradition of the uniquely woven St. Brigid cross is believed to have begun during a visit by Brigid to a dying pagan chieftan. To illustrate the significance of the Christian faith she wove a simple cross from the rushes strewn on the floor. From this time on the woven rush cross has become synonymous with the saint. 1 February commemorates the Feast of St. Brigid, when the Irish celebrate good health and well-being throughout the coming year." From Ireland. Available in 0-6 months or 6-12 months. Web Exclusive!
